The main outward distinction of SimCity 2000 from the earlier version SimCity is an isometric projection of the city. The constructions are now more detailed and visual. There are no more "FD" and "PD" on the roofs of buildings, you can see fire engines near the fire station, and sign of law-enforcement authorities on the police building.
Besides, there are more buildings in the game now, you will meet new constructions (metro, hospitals, zoos), you can also give names to the buildings. The city which you create is now surrounded with other cities and you can drive a trade with them.
