PSP dev wonder Ahman (the guy behind the oh-so wonderful iR Shell) just gave us a heads-up on some plugins for the iR Shell. And by some, we mean five whopping PSP plugins. What are they? Go check 'em out below!
First on the list is PMP Mod AVC v1.02N for fw 2.71, which enables users to watch full resolutions videos on the PSP. It's originally made by Jonny, the subtitle mod created by Raphael and the iR Shell plugin mod done by Magelo. According to Ahman, he modified this "standalone player to recognize both ".pmp" & ".avc" as movie files". The version we have here can be used either as an iR SHell plugin for firmware 2.71 through Dark _Alex's HenC or as a standalone app for 2.71 firmwares.
Next stop, we have a 2.71 port of Moonlight's/ Dark _Alex's Atrac3 player. As the name suggests, this fw 2.71 standalone app/fw 2.71 iR Shell plugin via Dark_Alex's HenC lets you play Atrac3 files (that's Sony's own audio format) on your PSP. Ahman notes that you can't access disc0 with the current player, but don't you fret, as Ahman says Dark_Alex was able to crack the protection already, and will release it in the next version of HEN.
Ahman also made a fw 2.71 port of Magik's PMF Player, which allows you to play your PMF files on your PSP legally. Ahman says that this one's primarily used as an iR Shell plugin under firmware 2.71 through Dark_ALex's HenC. The said dev adds that although this version can also be a standalone app, it's hard-coded to play a single file: play a single file "ms0:/movie.pmf", and doesn't have browsing capabilities unless it's used as an iR Shell plugin.
The fourth one's a user mode app by AnonymousTipster, the Zip & Rar Unarchiver. Ahman says that there are no modifications to the source code, and he "just repacked it to a 2.x EBOOT.PBP which can run under fw 2.71 PSPs with Dark_Alex HenC."
The last one's another user mode app, which allows users to view txt, HTML or PDF files from the iR shell file through the latest version of the Bookr document reader, and can also read Chinese, Japanese and Korean text amongst other updates. We're talking about Bookr 0.71 for fw 2.71, and Ahman says that he "just repacked the iR Shell plugin version to a 2.x EBOOT.PBP". Like the other ones I've mentioned, this can be used as a standalone app under firmware 2.71 PSPs and also as a plugin for iR Shell under fw 2.71 using Dark_AleX HenC. As for source code changes, there are none, as Ahman notes that "only repacking of EBOOT.PBP is needed."
