The Grayscale Hack - This is a utility for the Bodos PalmBoy and Phoinix Gameboy emulators. It may be useful for other applications as well.
This is a Hackmaster hack and requires the hackmaster application or a compatible replacement to be installed in order to work.
This hack allows the systems grayscale settings to be modified. It works only with applications that
* use the PalmOS functions to set the video modes (most of my games don't),
* use the 2bpp grayscale mode (black, white and two shades of grey),
* and don't try to set the greyscale settings themselves (most game do this).
This hack will allow you to adjust the grayscale settings used by e.g. Phoinix/PalmBoy to satisfy your needs. The adjustments will not affect programs that use their own grayscale settings but they will affect all applications that rely on the PalmOS functions to set the grayscale video mode. This way you don't have to adjust the settings for each application separately, but the settings are changed globally for all applications.
