The Guide to Off-Label Prescription Drugs - Did you know that one out of every four prescriptions written is off-label (not yet approved by FDA)? Off-label prescriptions are completely legal and are a vital alternative for optimal patient care. This application will let you quickly find information either by illness or medication. The entire guide is divided into three sections. The first deals with various diseases and disorders. It describes each condition and then provides information about drugs that may be used off-label to treat it. The entries include the generic and brand names of the drug, its official use, and a summary of research supporting the off-label uses. Part 2 contains drug profiles with generic and brand names, on-label and off-label uses, drug class and description, side effects, cautions, drug and food interactions, and pregnancy and breastfeeding cautions. The final section contains lists of recently approved drugs, sugar-fee drugs, alcohol-free drugs, sulfite-containing drugs, lactose- and galactose-free drugs, drugs that should not be crushed, and drugs that may cause photosensitivity.
