bliptracker There's a cool new brew for your DS in town, and it's bound to get your rhythm pumping away. The bliptracker v0.9c is a drum machine and a synth, as well as a sequencer, intended for live performance.
Dan the creator has given warning that this is but the beta code so make sure to backup your flashcard before installation or use. So far, this has only been tested on R4DS.
As for the installation procedures:
* unzip to flash card. samples need to be in the following folders: o bliptrackersamplesup o bliptrackersamplesdown o bliptrackersamplesleft o bliptrackersamplesright * each of those folders needs files called o bd.wav o hh.wav o sn.wav o zz.wav (defaults have been provided) * samples need to be 16bit wav files, best rate is 33075Hz. the loader is pretty basic and there are no guarantees that it'll load everything properly. samples should be smaller than 100kb. * dldi patch the bliptracker.nds file - follow that link for information, you probably want to download the one that says "dldi win32 right click" * fire it up and have fun!
Controls:
* mode: default o tap screen: beats o start: play current pattern o select: stop playback o pad: move pattern edit cursor o B: edit pattern o X: toggle every beat o Y: toggle every 2nd beat * mode: left trigger o tap/drag screen: tones o directional pad: choose playback pattern * mode: right trigger o directional pad: choose pattern to edit (playback is not affected) o b: toggle note at current position o a: tap tempo o x/y: tweak tempo * mode: both triggers o directional pad: choose drum set o x: clear current channel o x+y: clear pattern o select: settings menus
Bugs (known so far):
* tap tempo is a bit weird * max. 15 files in file dialogs * no error checking on load/save * wav loader chokes on weird files * dsmi connect crashes on no host found
