DS-Frotz Those who miss the old days of text adventures - remember the Infocom games of the late 70's? - will certainly appreciate the alpha release of DS-Frotz, a 'brewed clone of the early interactive fiction game genre. Here are its currently available features:
* games data read directly from your cart
* new input & keyboard features
* new design & multi-size and accentuated fonts
* user customization via the .ini files
* a lot of drawing and input bugs killed
In order to interact with the story, players can either write their actions, letter by letter, directly onto the touchscreen. For those who aren't too comfortable with handwriting, a mini-keyboard is available by pressing "X" to change the input type.
To make things easier for players, DS-Frotz also has icons which represent the oft-used actions, such as "GET," "DROP," "GIVE," etc. Instead of having to type/write those words over and over, you can just select those icons.
Here are the rest of the controls:
* X - swap between mini-keyboard and letter-drawing modes
* A - valid / OK (v1.2 games only)
* B - abort / clear input text (v1.2 games only)
* L / R - changes the image size (Level9 games only)
* Start - pause / exit the game
* Select - save a game to the SRAM
