Chordster (SH3) is a program designed for guitarists. It can graphically display most of the common chord styles backed up by a database of over 4000 chords.
The clearly laid out display (see the description of the ARM version of Chordster here on Handango to see some screen shots from the iPAQ version) shows part of a guitar fretboard. The chord is drawn on the fretboard showing where the guitarists fingers are placed to play the chord. Using the audio capabilities of the Pocket PC, Chordster is able to generate and play any of the strings that make up the chord and even play the entire chord!
Features include:
Display of the fingering positions on the virtual fretboard
A 4068 chord database
15 common chord styles
Right-handed and left-handed guitars supported
Optional colour guitar neck can be enabled complete with fret markers
Guitar fingering can be drawn in normal or inverse video styles
Built-in help
Note names displayed at the bottom of each string that is played in a chord
Legend screen showing the available display symbols and what they mean
Audio playing of any of the strings in a chord - or even the entire chord
Tuning Mode to tune your guitar
All facilities combined into a single small, efficient executable
