Percent for Art - For the second year, the City of New York is improving the way it provides information and transparency to citizens. The NYC Big Apps Competition challenges developers to create impactful applications, and deliver information from the City of New York's NYC.gov Data Mine to interested users.
The Percent for Art mobile application showcases art projects from all five boroughs. The Percent for Art Program offers City agencies the opportunity to acquire, commission or restore works of art specifically for City-owned buildings throughout the five boroughs. By bringing artists into the design process, the City's civic and community buildings are enriched.
The art projects are organized by borough, and each piece can be expanded to learn additonal details such as artist | title | year.
