There are two method to install the apk file into your phone:
1. copy the apk file to phone sdcard or memory, then click the apk file to install in phone file explorer.
2. connect phone to pc with usb, hten run "adb install *.apk" in pc command line to install the apk file to phone. adb tool can be found in android sdk.

Solution on can't find saved contact records in Contact application on Moto Droid.
1. enter "contacts" tab in contact
2. press Menu key, click "display options"
3. uncheck "Only contacts with phones" and click the Accounts below "Choose contacts to display" if any
4. Check all options like "System group: Friends/coworkers/..."
5. click "Done"
6. check all contacts again
