An officer finds himself caught in a time loop in a war with an alien race. His skills increase as he faces the same brutal combat scenarios through time loop, and his union with a Special Forces warrior gets him closer and closer to defeating the enemy.

Tom Cruise, known for performing his own stunts in his films, also did so in Edge of Tomorrow. He and Emily Blunt wore heavy metal suits that depicted their characters' battle suits. Emiliy Blunt trained three months for her role, "focusing on everything from weights to sprints to yoga, aerial wire work and gymnastics".
