If you're new to Sorcery PDA, following are just enough
clues to get you underway:
General
Probably the most important advice for any successful
adventure is to use your senses?not only will you gain
much needed experience points, but it may save your life.
In Sorcery four actions should be common practice, and
they are to look/search, listen, and smell. By issuing
these actions from the scene menu, you?ll be applying
them to the entire scene; otherwise you can apply these
actions to an object.
In Sorcery you?ll embark on many different adventures,
each unfolding more about ?Falcon?s Quest? and the
?Orb of Power?. During your quests you?ll encounter
puzzles?some easy and some not so simple?that may
need to be solved before you can further advance or
complete a quest. Don?t worry; if you get stuck, you
can always check your journal for hints, or even
backtrack to find another route pass some obstacle.
Scene 1
A statue inscription may be worth a thousand words. ("Search" the statue just to the right of the castle for
the code to open the locked gate in Scene 2.)
Moving around in Sorcery is accomplished
interactively by simply clicking where you want
to go in a scene. When moving the mouse into
position, the pointer will turn into a finger
indicating you can move to that location, or
into a grabbing hand for manipulating objects,
turning wheels, pulling levers, etc. When you
click a destination from the cursor-finger,
Sorcery will move you in that direction with an
animated sequence. On the other hand, if you
click the same direction but from a directional
character (i.e. N, S, E, and W), Sorcery will skip
the animated sequence and zip you to the
specified location.
When an object or menu button can be
pressed, the pointer will turn into a vertical
or horizontal hand with outstretched fingers
for pressing or pushing. At times the cursor
will turn into a magnifying glass to zoom in
and take a closer look at an object.
Additionally when clicking on an object, a
potential cluster of actions will be available.
NOTE: Windows Mobile version 2003 users will require a patch to run this game. The patch is currently under development and not available yet.
