SuperDim - This requires root privileges on your device and a backlit LCD screen (not OLED).
SuperDim lets you dim the display to very low levels--lower than the OS normally allows (that's why you need root privileges)--to save night vision. This will be particularly useful for serious amateur astronomers.
On some devices you can also turn off LEDs (e.g., power LED)
Blinky is an enhancement application to the standard BLN which blinks the LEDs. It gives you an extraordinary amount of control, and can even vibrate for those who have their phone in their pocket.

LED Strobe - This app turns your Android device into a strobe light or stroboscopic lamp, commonly called a strobe. It produces regular flashes of light using the camera flash LED. The speed of flashes can be adjusted.
