Hanging mistletoe over a doorway during the holiday season is a tradition around the world. We are all familiar with at least a portion of the mysterious story of this plant: namely, that a lot of kissing under it has been going on for ages. Along with the laurel and the Christmas tree, this ornament is an evergreen displayed during the Christmas season and symbolic of the eventual rebirth of vegetation that will occur in spring.
