NaviSpeak is a Windows Phone 7 application that speaks and displays your current address location.
NaviSpeak is your companion when you are travelling by foot, bicycle, in a vehicle or on a train. It is especially useful when it's not feasible to look at your phone display to find where you are.
Using sophisticated TTS (text-to-speech) technology, NaviSpeak will play an audio file of your current address while updating the location using GPS.
With NaviSpeak, you can
- Listen to audio of your location address through the phone speaker or headphones
- View the postal address of your current location
- View your current location in a zoomable map
- Share your postal location with sms
- Configure the settings to adjust the speaker interval and location accuracy
Please note that the phone volume must be set at an appropriate level to hear the speech. The app uses an external geolocation service that requires a data connection.
Known Issues: The last two digits of six digit UK postcodes are currently not displayed. Due to latency in the data retrieval, there may be a slight delay in speech after the actual location has passed.
