SoundSeeing Paris The Pont Neuf - The Pont Neuf connects the ile de la Cite with the banks of the river Seine. Despite its name, ?New Bridge?, the Pont Neuf is the oldest remaining bridge in the city. At the time, it really was new in that it was made of stone and no houses could be built on it. Now, the largest bridge in Paris actually does seem to be inhabited, but then by vendors, artists and tourists. It is almost a miracle that the 16th century bridge can still support all that weight.
