To be brief, "Tai Chi" means "the two opposing extremes in everything". The core of "Tai Chi" lies in the balance of Yin and Yang. Many natural dualities – dark and light, female and male, low and high, cold and hot – are viewed as manifestations of yin and yang respectively. The balance of Yin and Yang carries the meaning of how seemingly contrary forces are interconnected and interdependent in the natural world, and how they give rise to each other in turn.
"Tai Chi" implies a sense of value with an emphasis on magnanimity, harmony and balance. It recognizes a peaceful co-existence of all the things that are seemingly contrary, such as Good and Evil, Beautiful and Ugly, Right and Wrong, etc. making use of the wisdom in "Tai Chi", we can achieve a inner and outer balance between human and nature, as well as a harmony among human beings.
