BrightTools - BrightTools is a program that controls the brightness of the screen. To achieve this it has three different tools that controls the LCD brightness value: scheduled brightness change, popup dialog box and external power connection.
The Scheduled brightness tool changes the brightness of the screen according to a profile of hourly brightness values. For example: during the darkness hours, the brightness of the screen can be set to its lowest value, therefore stopping you from being dazzled by the brightness of the screen.
The Popup dialog box is a tool that can be launched from any application (rather like the standard brightness control dialog box that is supplied with PalmOS). This tool has 4 larger buttons that provide the user with quick preset values to set the brightness to. A standard slider controls is also supplied for a more precise control over the brightness level.
The External Power detection tool is used to change the brightness of the screen (i.e. the screens maximum) when the device is connected to an external power source. When the power source is removed, the screen will return back to the original un-powered value.
· Automatically change the brightness of the screen depending on the time of day.
· User defined profile for the scheduling of brightness values - defined in hourly slots.
· 4 preset quick buttons to enable fast brightness changing (all 4 are user defined).
· Ability to assign a hardware button to launch the Popup dialog control.
· All three of the brightness tools can be individually turning on/off depending on user requirements.
· Change the brightness of the screen when the external power supply is connected.
· Limit the minimum value of all the brightness sliders in the application (including the popup control) to stop the LCD backlight from turning off unintentionally.
· Automatically enables the primed tools after a device reset.
· When changing the brightness of the screen BrightTools can fade the brightness to the new value.
