BeBlank - 6 Icon Version - One advantage that BlackBerry has over iPhone is the ability of users to obtain many free and custom themes to give their BlackBerry a new look without performing a jailbreak. However, there are two major limitations to BlackBerry themes. First, no theme can change the standard icon layout. The homescreen might change, but the standard 6x4 icon layout will stay the same. Second, some themes have weather slots, or other slots, that can get in the way of seeing your wallpaper.
I ran across an app on my iPod Touch that can solve this problem to a certain extent, an app called iBlanks. After finding this app, I asked myself why there wasn't a similar app for BlackBerry. After extensive searching, I was forced to come to the conclusion that there was no such app for BlackBerry. Well, now there is!
Note that the trial is limited to one icon, which also launches a paypal donations page. Individuals who donate an amount equivalent to an existing version of BeBlank will receive a copy of that version via email.
Also note that the screenshots are based on the 24 icon version - the 6 icon and 12 icon versions obviously do not have 24 blanks.
Update: The OS5 bug has been fixed.
