Berry Protector - Device Lock - What is Device Lock - Berry Protector all about?
>> Lost blackberry? Left your Blackberry in office, restaurant, park, night club or any other public place? Worried to loose Blackberry & your personal information, SMS, Image, Videos, MMs, eMiail or any other most important information's?
Be cool, leave all of your tension, if your blackberry is lost, that application can't help to get it back, you have other options to get it back. But all of your personal data in your blackberry are safe & protected. Just one SMS requires from any other number.
As a first time user, what I need to do?
>> Open the application, in main menu, you will find an option called, 'Settings'. Clicking there you will find application settings screen. Give input to all the required fields. You need to give secret question's answer, your date of birth, Identification number (May be your driving license number or SSN or any other), those are required because if you forget password and like to reset password. Here you can enable 'lock key pad' option on also 'keypad password protected'. If you check both and make the option on, you need to set time. After each time interval your blackberry will be locked.
Settings done, now how can I block my blackberry sending SMS from another device?
>> You need to send one SMS from any other number. SMS format should be LOCK xxxxxxx (Key word 'LOCK' followed by space then password). Example: If you set the password 'myberry', so the SMS format would be: LOCK myberry
In App setting, I did 'Auto key password lock' option on, still I need to send SMS from other device to lock my Blackberry?
If you checked 'Auto key password lock' and the option is on, you have set the time interval how long after your blackberry will be locked. Say you set 2 minutes, so after 2 minutes you blackberry will be locked and to open it, you need to give the password, so SMS sending not required. But for double protection, you can still send SMS to lock the blackberry.
How to make your Blackberry keypad lock and password protected?
>>In app settings screen, you will find both options: Auto key lock & Auto key password lock, if you check both, you need set the time interval.
My Blackberry is password protected using Device Lock application, I left my Blackberry to other places, and still I need to send SMS to lock it?
In the application settings, if you make the keypad password protection on, then your device will be locked on that certain time you set. But for double safety, you can send SMS again from any other device to lock your Blackberry.
I installed the Device Lock application to my blackberry, I didn't make the setting yet, still I can lock my blackberry sending SMS from other device?
If you don't do the settings yet and save, the application is not workable.
If I shut down the Device Lock app, still it will work?
To keep the application running in the background, you need not shut down the app, just minimize it and keep it running in the background. If you shut down the app, the app won't be workable.
Please let me know very briefly how the Device Lock app works?
>>Download and install the Device Lock App, go to app main menu, click on Settings, to make the app running perfectly you need to fill up all the fields, once you are done filling all the fields, the app is ready. Keep it running in the background.
I forgot password, how I can recover it?
>>Click on 'Forgot password'. It will ask you secret question answer, your date of birth and identification number followed by new password and confirm new password. You need to give correct answers atleast for two, then only you can set new password.
Why I need to reset the password?
>>May be you have sent any SMS from other device to lock your Blackberry, so that SMS is their on that device inbox. You don't want to share the password to anybody, that's why you need to reset the password. Each time, you reset password, responsibility is yours only to keep that in your mind.
