Louis Segond was a Swiss theologian who translated the Bible into French from the original Greek and Hebrew texts. The translation of the Old Testament was published in two volumes in 1871, and the New Testament in 1880 through a private venture. The text was then reviewed by experts and resulted in the 1910 revision.
