Cry or Die in North Korea - CRY or DIE is the new exciting Android app that transports the gamer into the most severe Totalitarian government on the planet: North Korea.
The date is December 19th, 2011, two days after North Korea’s Dear Leader, Kim-Jong Il died. Millions of North Koreans take to the streets participating in the public funeral. Extravagant displays of mourning are required. Citizens must be inconsolable with grief. Shaking, sobbing violently. Grown men must weep like babies. What is the punishment for not crying their heart out? They better start planning their own funeral. Because on December 19th, 2011, the public must CRY to SURVIVE.
Totalitarian regimes require the cooperation of its citizens to uphold the rules, no matter how ludicrous those rules may be. Based on the true story of Kim-Jong Il’s funeral, in CRY or DIE, YOU are witness to REAL PHOTOS of the Dear Leader’s funeral.
HOW TO PLAY
Ready to accept the challenge of CRY OR DIE? Take a breath. Close your eyes… now OPEN them again and press “START.” You are the Special Agent assigned to review the photos taken at Kim-Jong Il’s funeral on December 19th 2001. Keep your eyes open. Scrutinize each shot closely. In every photo, you will find a DEFECTOR. This defector sheds no tears. This defector does not participate in the mourning of our Dear Leader’s funeral. This defector does not cry. You must point this individual out, by stamping out their face on the screen, and EXTERMINATE.
Remember, CRY or DIE.
With each photo you are presented, you are given a BLOODLINE at the bottom of your screen. This bloodline represents the amount of time you have to pinpoint the individual who doesn’t cry. Locate the defector within the time allowed, or you yourself must DIE.
ABOUT THE DEVELOPERS
CRY or DIE is designed and developed by three friends, Denes, Wolfgang, and Karcsi. Growing up in Communist Romania, these men understand the hypocrisy of Totalitarian regimes. They lived through the farce and fear, just as North Koreans experience today. Now, these three comrades convert their experience into a game, so anyone can get a feel for what it’s like under the thumb of a harsh government without living it everyday.
