New Zealand Adrenaline Adventure Guide - New Zealand is the adventure capital of the world. Everyday a Kiwi is dreaming up new ways of scaring your pants off in one of the most varied and beautiful countries on the planet. The great joy of it is that almost everywhere in New Zealand is easily accessible; you don't have to spend two weeks on a bus to get from snow-capped Alps to golden-sand beaches. In fact in some parts of Aotearoa (the Maori name for New Zealand meaning Land of the Long White Cloud), you can climb a mountain in the morning and go surfing in the afternoon!
Since the invention of the jet boat and the adaptation of the bungy cord, New Zealanders have been trying to find new ways of putting a surprised expression on the faces of their 70 million sheep! (As well as the million or so gob-smacked tourists who come to visit.) It's an intrinsic part of the Kiwi culture: even the most mundane of tasks should be completed with an added frisson of excitement, an extra splash and thrill - all beneath a grand sky, miles from the rest of the world, in a truly unique and awesome landscape. It has to be experienced to be believed.
