This application is actually three tours in one. First is the site-by-site tour of Cannery Row's history: the stage for John Steinbeck. The second is a tour of the actual and fictional sites used in John Steinbeck's 1945 novel, "Cannery Row," indicated by an icon of his book "Cannery Row." And lastly, integrated with the first two tours is access to essential commercial services on Cannery Row: where to eat, what to see, where to shop or where to stay-and how to get the most out of a trip to Cannery Row, or seeing it all from wherever you are with this app.
The vast majority of the archival photography for this history of Cannery Row and this app is from one incredible source: the Pat Hathaway Collection.
