Ambient Color - The application Ambient Color brings colored light into your life. You can choose your favorite color or select continuesly changing colors.
The applications comes with to cool sliders for settign the color itself and the color changing speed. Further you can use your mobile phone as remote control for your Windows computer
Auto Light lets you customize the different levels of brightness according the the environment. You just need to choose the brightness level (from 1 to 10) and set the limits of the sensor to the change the level. It is supposed to be better auto adjuster of the backlight for your phone.

AutoLight - HTC Topaz (Diamond 2) auto adjust backlight function is a good idea with a not very good implementation. It must be said to HTC excuse that the light sensor is very noisy, especially at low light conditions.
Some alternatives do exist but are not very good or are Compact Framework application (not a very good idea for background application)
Backlight Timeout Fix-Tired of the 10 seconds backlight timeout bug on htc prophet? Copy this file anywhere on your device and create an autostart entry. You can define a new backlight timout value (in seconds) on the commandline of neo_backlight_fix.exe. Example:

BacklightTimer powers off your PocketPC display for a set time interval. Select the hours/minutes and tap the button to power off your PocketPC display. Once the timer has finished the program will turn on the display. NOTE: You can also press the 'On' button on your device to power on the display
