Colorshot is a mobile application made specifically for the color blind. Our goal is to create an easy to use tool that can identify color variations.
Using a simple, yet elegant interface, Colorshot allows Windows Phone 7 users to quickly get the color name by tapping an area of a photo. The photo can be taken with the camera or from the memory of the phone.
Colorshot implements a color analysis algorithm based on the cylindrical-coordinate representation HSL (hue, saturation, and lightness) of the selected area. This method provides relevant information for the selected area of color.
We highly recommend tapping several sections of the photo as the object shape can distort the captured color. We also recommend taking the best picture possible as photo quality directly affects the color analysis.
