J Cole Biography

Jermaine Lamar Cole (born January 28, 1985), better known by his stage name J. Cole, is an American rapper and record producer. In 2009, he was the first rap artist signed to Jay-Z's label Roc Nation. His long-awaited debut album titled Cole World: The Sideline Story was released on September 27, 2011. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, Top R&B Albums and Top Rap Albums chart, selling more than 217,000 in its first week sales. He received a nomination for Best New Artist at the 54th Grammy Awards.

The Come Up Mixtape Vol. 10 is the first official mixtape from North Carolina rapper J. Cole, hosted by DJ OnPoint. The rapper self-produced 14 out of the 21 tracks on the mixtape, including his debut single, "Simba", which Cole shot his first music video for.

The Warm Up is the second official mixtape from Fayetteville, North Carolina rapper J. Cole. All of the songs, except for three ("Dreams", "Ladies" and "The Badness"), are featureless. Other popular songs on the mixtape are "Can I Live", and "Grown Simba". J. Cole also raps over the instrumentals of the songs "Dead Presidents" by Jay-Z, "Last Call" by Kanye West and "Get By" by Talib Kweli. J. Cole and The R.E.C also produced the majority of the mixtape with help from Elite, Syience, and E.k.n.

Friday Night Lights is the third official mixtape from Fayetteville, North Carolina rapper J. Cole. It was released on 12 November 2010. The mixtape was to originally be called Villematic and contain J. Cole's previous leaks and freestyles, however, J. Cole later stated it would have original material. The mixtape became the second most searched and trending topics on Google and Twitter respectively following its release.
